Types of Time Frames

There are 5 different time frame types:

  1. Always - all the time
  2. Days of the Week - a weekly schedule for days of the week and optional start/end times of the day
  3. Specific dates - exact dates and times, with the option to create multiple specific dates
  4. Holidays - select from a list of local and international holidays with an optional choice to recur
  5. Custom - Combines Days of The Week, Specific Dates, and Holidays

Always

The Always time frame is available as the active rule all the time. If an Always time frame is set for an Answering Rule and it is in the highest priority position, the answering rule will always be the active rule.

Days of the Week

This is a weekly schedule for days of the week and optional start/end times of the day. This time frame is best used for Business Hours.

Specific Dates

Exact dates and times, with the option to create multiple specific dates. Specific Dates is best used for call routing that does not occur regularly, such as Closing Early.

Holidays

Select from a list of local and international holidays with an optional choice to recur. With recurrence, a Holiday time frame can be set up once and repeated yearly.

The benefit of using the Holiday time frame over the Specific Dates time frame for adding holidays is the yearly recurrence without having to add the specific dates each year.

Custom

Combines days of the week, specific dates, and holidays all together to suit any time frame need. Please keep in mind that every day, date, and holiday added will follow the same call routing when used for an answering rule.

If you are setting up business hours, only include specific dates and holidays on which the business will be open.
