Extension Name Showing Incorrectly

This article assumes you are logged into the Manager Portal as an Office Manager.

An extension that was recycled may show the previous extension name when making internal calls to another extension. This is happening due to the phones not having the latest directory of extensions. To resolve this issue, a resync of the phones is necessary.

 

Resyncing the phones will force the phones to reach out to the server and download the latest settings. The phones may reboot when a resync is sent, depending on the model, so we recommend resyncing the phones at the beginning or end of the day when there are little to no calls.


Resync the Phones

1. Select the Inventory tab

2. Select the Phone Hardware sub-tab

3. Click the checkbox to select all phones

4. Click Bulk Edit

5. A Bulk Edit popup window will open

6. Click the up arrow next to Save

7. Click Save and Resync.

8. The phones will now resync. If the extension name is still appear incorrectly after the resync, please contact CallHarbor Support, including:

  • Your Name
  • Your Company Name
  • The extension number that is appearing incorrectly
  • The name that should be appearing for the extension
  • The name that is appearing for the extension
  • The date a resync was sent to the phones
