How Do I Plug In My Phone?

The exact position of the buttons will be different from phone to phone, but the names will be the same across phones that share a brand.

Grandstream
Polycom

Yealink Deskphone

Yealink Cordless


Grandstream

An ethernet cord should be plugged into the LAN (B) port and a network port or switch with internet access. If you don't know a port or switch to use, contact your IT manager.

If you have a computer that needs network access, you can plug it into the PC port (A) and it will share the phone's network connection.

Sometimes a phone will also need a power adapter connected to the power port (C). Most phones will receive power from the LAN (B) port through PoE.

If you have a headset with an RJ9 connector, it can be plugged into the Headset Port (D)

The handset should be plugged into the Handset port (E)


 

Polycom

Yealink Cordless

The Cordless Base and Charging Cradle are two different pieces. Please make sure you are working with the Cordless Base and not the charging Cradle.  

An ethernet cord should be plugged into the Internet (1) port and a network port or switch that has access to the internet. If you don't know a port or switch to use, contact your IT manager.

Sometimes a phone will also need a power adapter connected to the power port(2). Most phones will receive power from the Internet (1) port, through PoE
